The »PAM« (People Around Me) interface study refers to a communication platform for simultaneous and delayed multimedia communication. The application has been designed to run on both computers and mobile devices. The structural and functional principles are formed on the basis of a person's social circle. PAM uses colour coding, symbols, sounds and movement to enable the kind of nonverbal information to be transferred that is normally exchanged in direct person-to-person communication through the use of facial expressions, gestures, and tone of voice, for example. The novel graphical user interface allows users to rapidly distinguish and experience information, states, processes and affiliations, and facilitates an intuitive style of usage.
